New Jersey Monthly magazine released its top 100 NJ towns in their March issue entitled "Best Places to Live 2010"
According to the article not one of the towns in the Top 10 where from Bergen County. In fact, the first town to appear on the list was Teterboro and it ranked 20th.
Here are the top ten towns in NJ voted by NJ Monthly Magazine:
1.Bedminster Township
2.Chatham Township
3.Caldwell Township
4.New Hanover Township
5.Upper Township
6. Tabernacle
7. Plainsboro
8. Mountainside
9. Verona
10. North Caldwell
How did Bergen County rank?
The top five towns were:
1. Teterboro (ranked 20 out of 100)
2. Ho-Ho-Kus (ranked 30 out of 100)
3. Ridgewood (ranked 42 out of 100)
4. Woodcliff Lake (ranked 53 out of 100)
5. Mahwah (ranked 58 out of 100)
As a life-long resident of Bergen County and a resident of one of the top five towns, I am sadden that many more Bergen County towns didn’t make the top 100 list. Bergen County is a wonderful place to reside. It is close to NYC, has outstanding county parks, historic sites, golf courses, cultural events, restaurants and of course shopping. Hopefully, next year, we will see more representation from the great Bergen County on the 2011 list.
